Old Pictures
The Keota Historical Society has a great many pictures. They display them during Old Timer's Day each year for all to enjoy. Make plans now to visit your old stomping grounds each summer. We have lots of fun and would like to see you again.

Pictured at right is Keota High School as it looked in 1967. I was a freshman that year, graduating in 1970. The buildings above are just as I remember them while in high school. Although they are no longer standing, they will always have a special place in my early memories. Where have the years gone? I hope you enjoy these photos.
These buildings were an integral part of Keota's early history. The Midland Valley railroad depot (right) and the Howell Hotel (below), were gone before I can remember. The lumber yard pictured here, had changed in appearance, or may be a different one than I remember. For many of you, however, the "horse and buggy days" are among your fondest memories. Hope you enjoy.

Keota began as a consignment school in 1903. The first classes were reported to have been held in the structure at left.
